There are two main families of DOE products: beam splitters and beam shapers.
Optical beam splitter DOEs are used to split a single laser beam into several beams, each of these has the same char-acteristics as the original beam – except for the power and the angle of propagation.
Beam shaper DOEs are used to transform a near-Gaussian incident laser beam into a uniform-intensity spot of either round, rectangular, square, line, or other shape with sharp edges in a specific work plane.
