Wedge Partners expect ChinaCache to turn profitable in the third quarter   year 2014:;"We estimate ChinaCache will turn profitable in Q3 of 2014 with RMB 0.67/4 RMB EPS estimate for 2014/2015. We expect revenue will grow 32%/40% YoY in 2014 and 2015. Currently, ChinaCache is trading 0.95/0.71/0.50 PS compared with average 4X PS of peer companies." ChinaCache has become a top pick of multinational companies such as Apple (AAPL), General Motors (GM), Microsoft (MSFT), etc. for CDN service providers. 70% of China Mobile’s mobile CDN services were provided by ChinaCache.
In the past several years, the CDN market experienced rapid changes. Before 2011, ChinaCache aggressively took share to prepare for an IPO, while China Netcenter expanded aggressively to the CDN market in 2012. Price competition became the main weapon to gain share, which hurt overall market gross margins as well as increased the risk of bad debt. We think the current duopoly structure is fairly stable with ChinaCache and Netcenter each having around 40-45% market share. The two main competitors are trying to look for developments in new technologies instead of competing on price.
