Piper Jaffary analyst Gene Munster this afternoon released the results of his latest semi-annual survey of over 7,700 teens. And the major conclusion is that Apple “remains the pre-eminent technology brand for teens.”
Survey finds 40% of teens own an iPhone, up from 34% in the spring and 23% a year ago.
62% of teens plan to make the iPhone their next smartphone.
22% plan to buy an Android phone.
Of the survey group, 44% have a tablet; 72% of those own iPads. In the spring survey, 34% owned a tablet; a year ago the total was 29%.
Of those who did not have a tablet, but plan to buy one in the next 6 months, 74% plan to buy an iPad.
Munster thinks an iPad Mini will boost tablet ownership among younger users.
