Market Highlights
US markets opened lower following declines in Asia, but had little movement over the session, remaining in a narrow trading range. Outside of equity markets, the continued rise of oil (with the Brent futures contract rising to above USD 90 per barrel) indicates the intent of further production cuts by Russia and Saudi Arabia.
In Asian night trading, futures were barely changed with the largest movement the 0.4% increase for Japan’s Nikkei index above its day-session close (and rising above the 33,000 level at that).
