Reuters reports the New York state's Department of Financial Services recently sent letters to 28 peer-to-peer online lenders, including Prosper, Funding Circle and others, inquiring about certain details of the companies' offerings, cash flow charts and other information, in addition to explaining New York's licensing laws

Note the WSJ reported on 18-May NY regulators had subpoenaed LendingClub (LC) over its business practices
